About Richmond P. Woodson

Woodson got his Fine Art degree at California State University in 1987 and hasn’t stopped painting since. His first group ehibition was in Mendocino in 1990 and since then his work has been featured in galleries and museums in Napa, Carmel, and Monterey, California, and Phoenix, Arizona. In 1998 he exhibited with the other “Informallists” at their first group show in Pacific Grove, California. He has won awards throughout the United States for his artwork.

Woodson is not only an artist, he is a craftsman — he carves and guilds the frames for his artwork himself, and builds pochade boxes for other Plein Air painters. He currently lives in Pacific Grove and you will often find him painting along the inspirational coastline around the peninsula.
