“What’s most astonishing and humbling about painting is that each time you face a blank canvas you have the opportunity to create something beautiful. That’s both intimidating and incredibly powerful. The final test is whether you can harness all the elements of good design, technical execution, and a spark of spontaneity to create something that can standthe test of time. If you can look at a painting each day and still find something inspiring in it, then you really have something.
